Night Owls are proudly

Night Owls are played by teams
of four on Wednesday nights during
the summer months, commencing
at 7:15 p.m.
The 2022/23 season runs from
October to March.
No special equipment is needed - you can
play in bare feet or any shoes without heels,
and the club can provide bowls if necessary.
The cost per week is only $6.00 per team
member. This covers play, prizes and supper.

Clubroom Hire
When not being used for Lawn Bowls events, the Clubrooms are
available for hire for formal functions, parties, meetings or training
sessions. Funerals and wakes can also be facilitated.
The fully carpeted Clubrooms have a seating capacity for 160 guests.
There is a dance floor and access to sound systems for
entertainment and speeches. The fully equipped commercial
kitchen has crockery and cutlery sufficient to cater for large groups.
Our modern bar can cater to your needs. All of our Bar Staff are
fully trained in all aspects of bar service. As an accredited ‘Good
Sports Club’, we meet the requirements of serving alcohol safely.
Minors or inebriated persons will not be served according to our
liquor licence legislation. The facility has a strict No Smoking policy
and is designed to meet all safety requirements as well as access for
people with disabilities.
There are two large wall mounted televisions which can be used for
videos, or to connect to your laptop so that information can be
presented to large groups. There is also a smaller meeting room for
hire, with tea and coffee making facilities.

THE PEOPLE’S WEEKLY, MOONTA, SATURDAY, JANUARY 18, 1919.
Sgt-Major Matthews waited on the Town Council last Tuesday night as a deputation from the Returned Sailors’
and Soldiers’ Association, and asked that the Council co-operate with them in appointing two delegates to wait
on the Mining Coy with a view to Military Park being set apart for a soldiers’ memorial. It was, he said, proposed
to erect club rooms there, construct a bowling green, tennis courts, and children’s play grounds. If the park
could be secured a public working bee would do wonders there in a short time, the same as had been done at
Pirie. He contended that this would be a lasting and fitting memorial to soldiers and sailors, and beautify one of
the town approaches at the same time. They had been promised substantial outside support. The Mayor
promised that the matter would be gone into and a reply sent at an early date. It was subsequently decided to
hold the matter over for a fortnight.
Moonta Memorial Park Bowling Club has a long history,
dating back to 1919.
